Our Story
We Wanted Access to Celebrity K-Beauty Products
It all started with K-Dramas. One day my sister Khatundi offered to help me take down my micro braids and suggested watching a Korean TV show that had popped up on her feed. I knew this would be a full day experience, with the take down, the detangling, the washing, the deep conditioning, the blow drying, so I figured why not? My sis pressed play on a K-Drama called "Secret Garden" and when it ended there was no debate. Next Episode.
It wasn’t long before we found ourselves looking up the actresses, and wondering how they achieved their flawless canvases.
Enter internet research: what does Ha Ji Won use on her skin?
Oh, homegirl says she uses a sheet mask everyday, even when she's tired? Got it. But what brand does she use?
Our research lead to testing a lot of different products and the desire to share this #SkinFirst approach to beauty with other women in our circle. Our first client was our mother, and I was beaming when we took a trip back to Kenya and her younger siblings marvelled at how youthful her skin looked. Mama just smiled as if it was nothing but a Dove soap and drinking water.
Now it’s our mission to make K-Beauty products more accessible to Black women. To reach for more than #BlackDontCrack, and help Black women grow more radiant with time. To be confident in their skin with a full makeup beat or without. We are here to help you get results.
